There must always be give and take on both sides. You cannot give up and leave when things are tough. You have to work through the tough patches, work hard to work things out, and resolve to work on your difficulties and stay together.
From looking at the divorce rates today and in recent decades, I think that couples may give up too quickly and without really working to solve the problems that led to the divorce. Maybe they have expectations that the entire marriage will always be happy and go smoothly. These are unrealistic. You can, however, work together to make your marriage work more smoothly, to learn to solve problems more quickly and with less strife.”
